This is mostly a PSA -- I want to share all this coolness since I'm still AWAKE:

* We saw Finding Neverland and A Series of Unfortunate Events today, and got a preview for a really guilty pleasure movie called Ice Princess. It stars Michelle Trachtenberg as some smart girl who becomes a good ice skater due to studying physics or whatever, with Kim Cattrall (squee!) as her coach. They already had us there, and then at the end they show that Michelle Kwan totally has a role as a commentator! Double squee! And then, BEST OF ALL, the credits showed that the story is by MEG CABOT. OMG. There are no squees left.

* Speaking of Meg Cabot, her new book, Every Boy's Got One, is out. Jade and I are going to purchase our copies tomorrow, oh yes we will. :D Really, I should probably get a commission for how often I pimp her stuff.

* Already pimped this, but Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle is out tomorrow, as well as Troy. We're going to rent H&K, and then the three of us are going to go to Tommy's, our version of bad-for-you burgers, afterward. :)) Have I mentioned how terrible this vacation has been for my diet?

* The next Georgia Nicholson book, Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers, will be out June 1, 2005! Yay! Oh, I hope there's lots of Dave the Laugh.

* In His Kiss, Julia Quinn's next Bridgerton book (Hyacinth) will be out July 1, 2005. (Jade and I are looking up everything we're interested in on Amazon right now, because Barnes & Noble was COMPLETELY USELESS to us today. They knew NOTHING.)

* Listen to this remix of Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" with Oasis's "Wonderwall," Travis's "Writing to Reach You," and Eminem's "Sing for the Moment" (which samples Aerosmith's "Dream On"). [livejournal.com profile] ropo first heard it on an indie rock station in LA, but it's by a DJ named Party Ben so I'm not sure that it originates here. I got tired of waiting to actually catch it on the radio, so I decided to go hunting for it online and viola! It's incredibly cool, so have a listen.

* More movies coming out on DVD: Friday Night Lights, Jan. 18, and The Notebook, Feb. 8. :D

W00t for a date for In His Kiss! Would you believe that they still don't have Eloise or Francesca's books available here? Disgraceful.

:O

They're not even out yet? Are there dates for them, at least?? If not, we are so getting those for you. Or wait ... you've probably already got them, right, through your many U.S. connections? Because I know I discussed at least WHWW with you. (Jade also loved the last line of that book, btw. :D) In any case, if you have need for any Bridgerton book, let us know.

Nope, not out, and nope, no date. Slack, the publishing company is. I do have them, though -- Melissa sent me Eloise's book and I was in the US when Francesca's came out. I read it on the plane home.

Thank you for the offer -- I'll work out how to get Hyacinth's somehow!

*hugs*

I took Alec to see A Series of Unfortunate Events and yes, got so excited over the Ice Princess trailor. :D I mean, it's a smart girl - that figures out how to ice skate - give her a tiara and a pony and you've got yourself every little girls dream. Alec, however, was less than impressed. :/ I'll be seeing this with one of my girl friends apparently.

Glad you are having such a great vacation with you friends. :D

Hi! Here via common friends...I think.

Anyway, Every boy's got one is an amazing book! Very cute! But, I somehow find Boy meets Girl much better. Oh, and I love The Mediator series! :D

Squee at the Michelle Kwan/Meg Cabot movie! And SQUEEEE at the new Meg Cabot book! I might have to start buying hardcovers of hers, because it's too damn long before paperbacks come out. I'm still waiting for "Teen Idol" and the latest PD book to come out in PB. Grrrr.

Actually, only her most recent young adult novels are in hardcover; her adult contemporary has always been trade paperback (at least so far). So you shouldn't have to wait for her newest one, as it's paperback. :D I thought Teen Idol was in mass-market already, but I could be wrong about that.
