Mkay, so several things (boy, a lot can happen in a few days, huh?):

1. The RPG [livejournal.com profile] liss1224 is setting up sounds like a ton of fun. I've always wanted to participate in an RPG, but never heard about them in time to get any of the characters I'd like to play. I might have a shot this time! I understand the general theory behind them, but am unaware of the behind-the-scenes plotting. May have to learn as we go. Oh, and the other thing is: RPGs have always seemed that they would be more fun if playing with people you know.

2. Must rec a Ron/Ginny fic by [livejournal.com profile] infinitus. I'm trying to stick to the sanctity and purity of Draco/Ginny, Harry/Hermione, but these gals are making it difficult indeed. You can read "Lost" here.

3. Am writing a smutlet. Only, the "let" part may already be compromised. It's currently 15 pages long, and that's just for the set up of the smut. Yes, I hear the snores already. But honestly, it's such a bizarre premise that it's required! I'm incapable of forcing a reader to suspend disbelief from paragraph one. Not that the 15 pages actually makes it that much more believable, so maybe I should have just saved my time. Edited to add: Are you British? Do you have time/inclination to beta this story? I would be so grateful! Normally I'm not as concerned with my prose sounding British (as long as the characters' dialogue can at least semi-cut it), but this one is Hermione first-person POV so I feel a little more pressured than usual to get it right. I'd also need quick turn-around since I have a deadline. If this project sounds like the one for you, please let me know. ; )

4. Went on a 3-mile walk with Talis yesterday. It was GREAT. Tired the little puppy out, giving me some quiet, uninterrupted time to write. Of course, it was only for two hours and then he was energetic again, but still. The lake was absolutely gorgeous, and I'm determined to do this as often as I can ... and at least once a week.

5. I think I may want to go see "The Quiet American" at some second-run theater. Julie mentioned it was good, and told me what the basic plotline is. I had never considered wanting to see it before, but I found myself rather intrigued.

6. Altoids Citrus Sours are the bomb.

7. Finished the fourth book of the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison, and it went by far too quickly. I adore those books ... and I think Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants might be the last! Noooooooo!!

8. Am taping American Idol for [livejournal.com profile] trixiefirecra, who is in England now, and who has promised to write me a D/G story in return for doing so. Wheeeeee!!

Am also a huge fan of the Georgia books. :) The third one was a bit lacking, but I adored the fourth. "Is the Pope a vicar?" "Er...actually he's not." LOL. Mark the L is lovely; I don't know why she liked the Sex God so much.

Yes, I did hear it is the last. Oh well. Series has probably come to a peak anyway.

Oooh, and would LOVE to see your ficlet; I adore your smut. :)

LOL! The Pope moment was one of the few in which I actually giggled like a maniac for ages. Oh, Dave the Laugh is fabulous, and I was also a bit frustrated by Georgia being so hung up on the SG. However, I also think the point was that Georgia is a typical 14-year-old girl, easily influenced by a pretty face and a good snog. Her youth argues for her not being able to tell the urgings of her hormones from other urgings ... even though personally I think DtL has it all. ; ) You're probably right about the series, but I have such fun w/ them that I'm disappointed anyway. Jade checked and I think the 3rd book was significantly shorter than the others have been. I wonder if the 3rd and 4th were actually a single entity at one point, but they wanted to sell more books. Le sigh.

As for the "ficlet," I am so glad to hear that at least someone will be reading it. You don't happen do be British, do you? <g> I think I desperately need a Brit beta, particularly as it's Hermoine first-person POV. Hmm. May have to edit my entry.

Er...just realized that I referred to Dave as Mark for some reason in the post above. *facepalm* No idea where that came from. I am tired. Yes, 3rd book was WAY shorter. It was weird. Also, did you notice how the 4th book was billed as "Georgia's Trip to Paris" yet she was there for like a chapter? As for her obsession with the SG, I completely understand. I swooned over musicians back then. (In fact I still do.) But long hair doesn't really do it for me, so...My hands-down favourite character is poor Jas.

I'm not British, but I am the next best thing (Canadian). I do happen to use same spelling/grammar/phrases as Brits. So let me know, I'd love to help. :)

LOL -- Jas. Poor maligned thing. One of the first things Georgia says about Jas: "She's my best pal, but it's more like having a dog, really."

I never saw the 4th billed as Georgia's trip to Paris! So I didn't think much of it. What I *was* annoyed by was the fact that the dustjacket (on the US version, at least) refers to an event that happens far later in the book (I'm being vague because I don't want to spoil it for anyone), and yet I kept waiting for it to happen. Also, the 2nd book in the US was called "On the Bright Side, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God" whereas the British version was something about Really Big Knickers.

Anyway -- I'd love to have you take a look at the story when it's done and get some of your input. I'm not that concerned about the spelling ... I'm not trying to pass myself off as a British writer, but yet I want it to at least sound a little more Brit than it does currently. I don't know how I draw these lines, but there you go. <g>

No problem, I'd love to read! Don't worry about sounding too Brit, though, as long as you don't say "Mom" you'll be fine.

One of my favourite bits from the second book is: "He laughed. It was funny but I didn't feel nervous, not like with SG. I didn't say I wanted to be a vet or anything. I very nearly made sense." I <3 Dave.

I can Britpick (and I do). I'd love to beta.

Will get back to you about the RPG! *hugs*

Fabulous. I'm hoping to finish it today, so you will likely find it in your inbox in the next day or so. Thanks so much.

Altoids Citrus Sours are indeed the bomb.

Don't fear Ron/Ginny. Embrace it. Hey, at least it pairs Ron up with someone, right? R/Hrs are always complaining that Ron gets left out in the cold with H/Hr. Now he has Ginny. ;) But what about Draco? Oooh, idea! Draco/Ron/Ginny. Is there a group for that? I need to make a group for that.

Can't wait to read your ficlet. Smut is always in style.
