The wrongest thing to come out of The Notebook being such a t00bily great movie is that the book has now shot up the bestseller lists again. Remember The Wedding, the quasi-sequel to TN that I got after reading TN? And I laughed because it was like fanfic? And it turned out to be even more terrible than TN? Now #1 on the NY Times trade paperback list. So wrong.

You know what else is really wrong? eBay. eBay + my lack of self-control. I won't go into the gory details. However, I do want to say that I thought Evanescence had an album prior to "Fallen," which I love, but couldn't find it at any retail store. So I went to eBay, and apparently it's a rare, no-longer-released album. Of course it is. First the Equilibrium soundtrack, now this. I am accursed.

My mother is also wrong. My dad got me the first four seasons of CSI, but is not allowed to send them to me yet because my mom is watching them first. :-l She also got into BtVS, Angel, and Alias before I did. If that's not wrong, I don't know what is.

Had lunch with Scott today. Found out that his wife is about to turn 40!! At first I couldn't believe it. I was like, did we somehow start talking about his mom or his sister or cousin or someone? Because there's NO WAY his wife is 40. If you'd made me guess her age, I would have said late 20s/early 30s, which is what he is. But no. It was probably really rude the way I gaped at him, but also a compliment, you know? Right? Yes.

Posted IYOK6 to MM last night. Oh the relief.

And as I've been promising [livejournal.com profile] kirixchi, pics of my KS bags:

* Here's a pic of them all together. (Not all are there, but let's face it, this is an ever-evolving situation.)

And then individually:

* carol, cranberry, nylon
* carolina, ks signature rose print, satin-finished cotton
* jadyn, chelsea fleur/lime jade, canvas
* opus, chocolate, suede
* sam, black, nylon
* sydney, herringbone, wool
* vertical bucket, clayton stripe (amethyst/chocolate), satin-finished cotton

I also have an eleni and a claire, but don't have pics of those yet. <3

And BTW, Shar, since I haven't been able to sign onto YM at work, and at home I do it really late: No, they never explain where Tara and Willow have the money to do anything, nor is it ever explored that they should perhaps get jobs to help pay the bills instead of lying around being lesbians in love all day. The second Buffy gets back from the grave, she has worry about making a living to support all of them, on top of her Slayer duties? WTF, no wonder she was pissed. What the hell would they have done if she hadn't been conveniently brought back? Maybe make the Buffybot do it. God, I love the Buffybot. I think I'd watch a show that was just her.

And the Willow magic addiction thing was the most terrible thing ever conceived. It was SO LAME, not to mention clunkily done (weekly anvil of LOOK! WILLOW'S ADDICTED TO MAGIC JUST LIKE PEOPLE ARE ADDICTED TO DRUGS! -- ugh); I really could have lived without that entire storyline. In any case, I pretty much stopped liking Willow after they left high school.

The Willow magic addiction could have been cool, if they'd kept it about her control issues instead of the big old "Lookit, she's a junkie!", not to mention the godawfulness of the whole episode where she takes Dawn to Rack's. Falling down in the alley was the lamest thing ever... Until she glomped Buffy and snivelled that she needed help. *eye roll* I did enjoy the Buffybot, and I find myself liking the evil geek trio, and Anya. *sulks because they're obviously doomed*

I believe that episode was penned by Marti Noxon, She Who Created Riley and who was showrunner during that season. She doesn't have many fans. It's difficult to say whether she or David Fury is worse.

I totally enjoy Anya and the Troika. In fact, Andrew is one of my favorite characters of all time -- the only Buffyverse story (well really, a drabble) I've ever written is one on Andrew. <g>

What atrocities has David Fury wrought? It's hard to think of something that could be worse than the Riley leaving episode with Dr. Laura possessing the body of Xander Harris. That's still, to me, the absolute lowest point of the series thus far.

OoooH! Bags!
I love them all...The sydney is my favorite, because I've always loved that shape (even though I don't have one) and because tweed is meant to be "it" this fall. The opus also looks heavenly. I have an addiction for suede.
The tote is a great size. Does it zip on top? It looks like it zips. I'm jealous. Lack of Zipper is the only thing I don't like about my luggage stripe.
All in all, MOST enviable!
-Kiri, who will be interested to know your experience in how well they hold up.
BTW: How often do you change bags? It could just be that I'm excessively hard on mine.

I also love the shape of the sydney, though the carolina is definitely my fave. None of the bags I have so far have zippers ... the tote closes with skinny leather ties, which is kind of a pain.

Mine have been pretty durable so far, but I admit to being fickle and constantly changing bags so they all get a little bit worn rather than one getting a lot worn ... or I get sick of them before they start to wear down at all. :p But I'll definitely keep you posted about these ... maybe there is something wrong w/ the craftsmanship. What a depressing thought. <g>

Don't forget Roswell. You also shamed her about that.

At least she isn't like my mom, going on about how she doesn't like Kid Rock as much now that he's "gone all pussy."

Step away from ebay. If I can save u, let me.

OMG I can't believe I forgot about Roswell!!!! That was the one that made me come around first.

I love that your icon is my secret ship.

Oh you're useless at saving me from eBay. I shun you.

Ugh. Do NOT get me started on TN. Loved the movie, abhorred the book. Halfway through, I couldn't make myself continue so I ended up leaving it unfinished.

Hmm. Though it *might* possibly have something to do w/ the fact that I chose to see the movie first. :/ Ah well. Just out of curiosity, which did you do first?

And re IYOK6 having been posted, just how in the world did this bit of news manage to escape me?!?!

*runs off to read it*

Hee! :))

I read the book first. When preview for TN first came out, I was all excited by the t00biness of it and was dying to know how it all turned out, so I read the book. It was truly awful, but I was compelled to finish it. I don't think I would have been able to do it if I'd seen the movie first. The problem is that the movie focuses on the *best* part(s), which is how they fell in love, etc., whereas the book is just all about them getting back together, without our ever having seen them do the falling in love. And that's the good part! :D

But that red-designer-purse-carrying murderer has three hands! You'd think a stunningly beautiful woman with three hands would have some trouble hiding from the police...

What I love about this picture, besides your three hands, one of which is coming from your CHIN, is that Jade is holding my head--cradling it, if you will. It's touching.
