Well, this bites.

This is SO going to happen to me. :-l
We regret to announce the untimely demise of Sarea Okelani, who on the 5th of May of this year was randomly completely consumed by passing aliens. This unfortunate incident occurred in a small, unmarked sedan in Seattle, WA. The deceased was reported to have shouted "Well, there goes the rest of my day..." just before expiring. Sarea Okelani is survived by some thankless family members, who are even now looting the personal effects of the departed. Funeral services will be held the 4th of next month.
Get your own crazy obit.
When I met
ropo's minister dad when I was in LA, he said, "Robbie didn't tell me you were handicapped," with a twinkle in his eye. And I was like, what? How dare she talk about my mental instability to her father? But then I realized he was talking about the fact that I'm left handed. :-l
Today I saw this quote, and I wish I'd had this ready as a response: "Everyone is born right-handed, but only the greatest overcome it." HaHA, so take that, Mr. G! Yes, this is one of those 'this is what I should have said' two months late.
Edit: I absolutely had to do one for Jade. *falls over laughing*
We regret to announce the unpleasant death of Jade Okelani, who on the 4th of December of this year was meticulously buried alive by a large rabid squirrel. This unfortunate incident occurred in an adult bookstore in Las Calamas, CA. The deceased was reported to have shouted "Stand back! I'm a professional!" just before expiring. Jade Okelani is survived by fifty or so gerbils. Funeral services will be held the 19th of next month.
Edit #2: Someone asked me if I knew where to find Tikal's story, which I quote on my sidebar. I'm sorry, I don't. :( I read that story at FF.net. If I recall correctly, this particular author had said something about being a big canon supporter, and since OotP made D/G impossible, they would eventually take down all their stories that didn't fall within JKR's universe. Er ... okay. Don't ask me how OotP made D/G impossible -- as if it was so likely in the first place. What happened in the previous books that made it canonically acceptable, that was then nixed in OotP? Have no clue.
Edit #3: This is so incredibly wrong, but ... I've purchased this. Xbox Karaoke, what will they think of next? The coolest part is this: Insert your favorite CD and sing along when Mixer strips out the vocals. Lalala!!!

About the D/G... TheirlovewassocanonbeforeOotP But I've seen quite a few people that have finally realized that, after 5 books, Draco is still a bully and a selfish brat and that he might not be redeemed by JKR at all. And well, some people have problems keeping fanon!Draco and canon!Draco apart. *shrug* I understand where the author is coming from, wanting to keep his fiction within canonical parameters, but Canon!D/G? Seriously?
And last, about left handed people, here's a true story. I was born left-handed. At least I used to grab everything with my left hand when I was a baby. My mother - because left-handed children had problems growing up in a right handed environment and as a result, I'm sure, of a little prodding from my grandmother - made me right-handed. Whenever I grabbed something with my left hand she would switch it to my right, until I was about 4. I remember being reasonably ambidextrous during my early years of elementary school, but my left hand is now pretty much useless now. Funny thing is that, when writing, I still grab the pencil funny because of the hand switch, so my penmanship sucks :p
I wonder if I switched hands because of my mother's insistence or if I was a rightie (or ambidextrous) all along and I was just going though a phase. I mean, can you really make somebody switch hands when they are young? I also wonder if that affected the way my brain developed. I am very practical and logic minded... would I have been more creative if I had been raised as a left-handed? Maybe this is part of the reason why in my psychological evaluations I'm a perfect zero: usually my emotional/creative and rational/logic scores cancel each other. If you are even in need of a cynical hopeless romantic, I'm the man :p
Oh, and my mother has apologized for ruining me :p
