Robbie once read a long entry of mine, and said that it made her so tired she had to go back to bed for the third time that day. This meme is like that. Just to warn you.

But considering I "woke up" at 3am, this is about all my brain can handle at the moment.

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] fearthainn:

What's the last thing you ate?
Pizza, from dinner last night. Mmmmmpizzzzaaaaa.

What's your favourite cheese?
I love sharp cheeses, particularly cheddar. I also loooove Brie.

What's your favourite fish?
I love this fish called tilapia, and found it in the grocery store the other week. Usually I've only had it in restaurants. Otherwise, I'm always good w/ salmon.

What's your favourite fruit?
Mangoes.

When, if ever, did you start liking olives?
I've always liked them.

When, if ever, did you start liking beer?
It's yet to happen. When I drink beer, I ask for the sweetest cider ale they have. Or if it must be regular beer, a Corona w/ lime.

When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish?
I have always loved shellfish. Crab and shrimp are my favorites.

What was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make?
In my entire life, my dad has only ever made instant noodles, in my recollection. He's also good at ordering pizza. My mom makes many yummy dishes. I love her ox-tail soup and pork chops w/ onions.

What's the native specialty of your home town?
Ummmm ... the avocado. :D Yay California!

What's your comfort food?
All food is pretty damn comforting. I love to eat.

What's your favorite type of chocolate?
Those hazelnet shell things from Godiva. MmmmmhazelnutshellthingsfromGodivaaaaa...

How do you like your steak?
Medium rare, lightly seasoned.

How do you like your burger?
Big, with avocado, tomato, lettuce, pickles, bacon, and American cheese. Spread with ketchup and mustard.

How do you like your eggs?
Over easy, but only if there's toast nearby. Otherwise I love Eggs Benedict, which I can only ever eat in restaurants because the Hollandaise sauce is beyond me. But I'm a big fan of eggs, so I'll eat them just about any way.

How do you like your potatoes?
Oh, not this question again. I am a big fan of The Potato. I will eat them any way you make them (except raw). I will tell you that steak fries are my least favorite kind of fries. There, does that appease your curiosity about my potato preferences?

How do you take your coffee?
Need lots of cream and sugar. I love vanilla lattes.

How do you take your tea?
Again with cream and sugar, though not as much. I like dark, strong teas.

What's your favourite mug?
Well, before I broke it, it was this clear-glass, fat mug that I got from the company I had contracted through at one point. Now I don't have a favorite.

What's your biscuit or cookie of choice?
White chocolate cranberry.

What's your ideal breakfast?
Eggs (see above re: preference), diced potatoes, corned-beef hash (I love this stuff for some reason), orange juice, toast.

What's your ideal sandwich?
Pastrami sandwiches, if the pastrami's good. Top it with mustard and pickles and a bit of sauerkraut and yum!

What's your ideal pizza (topping and base)?
Normal crust with lots of sauce, not too heavy on cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, broccoli, jalapenos.

What's your ideal pie (sweet or savory)?
Almost any pie from Marie Callendar's - strawberry, peach, banana cream, French apple, chocolate, lemon meringue, chicken, turkey ... omg this meme is making me so hungry.

What's your ideal salad?
Greens (something other than lettuce, though, too boring for salad), eggs, beets, mushrooms, cucumber, cottage cheese, those crunchy stick things, and tomato with one of these dressings: ranch, thousand island, or balsamic vinaigrette.

What food do you always like to have in the fridge?
Butter, eggs, orange juice, easily heated and yummy leftovers, and some kind of fruit, so I can pretend I can be healthy if I want.

What food do you always like to have in the freezer?
I have tons of meat in my freezer. And ice cream. My mom goggled when she saw it. Her response: "Are you afraid you're going to starve or something????" SHE DOESN'T KNOW.

What food do you always like to have in the cupboard?
Instant pasta/noodles, soup, canned vegetables, seasoning.

What spices can you not live without?
Salt and garlic, mostly. Love the others but can live w/o them.

What sauces can you not live without?
I suppose I must say soy sauce, since it's such a good base for all other sauces. Can't think of another sauce that I -- oh wait, au jus. I love au jus for prime rib.

Where do you buy most of your food?
Safeway. It's so conveniently close, and people are nice there.

How often do you go food shopping?
Sadly, every week or so. Safeway is to me what Pottery Barn is to someone else.

What's the most you've spent on a single food item?
Ummmmmmmmm ... yeah, I don't know.

What's the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own (excluding 'white goods')?
Probably my new stand mixer, but even that was only $40 or so. I love Target. I also got a deep fryer recently, have I mentioned that? I'm such a freak, but it's soooo exciting.

What's the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen?
A plate lifter. See, after you steam something, you can use it to lift the plate out of the pot. So convenient!

What piece of kitchen equipment could you not live without?
I'm going to go with my stove.

How many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients?
Probably once or twice a week. I usually make enough to last me the week, or else I go out to eat.

What's the last thing you cooked from raw ingredients?
Shrimp scampi.

What meats have you eaten besides cow, pig and poultry?
I've also had: rabbit, frog, buffalo, snake (or so my mom claims, when I was younger), and possibly some others I'm not remembering. Plus I really don't know what was in that elementary school cafeteria food.

What's the last time you ate something that had fallen on the floor?
Ewwwwwwwwwww, I don't do that. If it goes on the floor, I either wash it vigorously or it goes in the trash.

What's the last time you ate something you'd picked in the wild?
This was probably four years ago, some blackberries.

Place in order of preference (greatest to least):
Sushi, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Italian, French.

Sushi, Chinese, French, Italian, Indian, Thai.

Place in order of preference:
Whisky, Light Rum, Dark Rum, Vodka, Brandy, Tequila, Gin

Blah, I don't really like any of these, especially not alone. However, I will say vodka, light rum ... fill in the rest haphazardly ... tequila, for last.

Place in order of preference:
Garlic, Ginger, Basil, Lime, Mint, Caramel, Aniseed

Garlic, Lime, Basil, Caramel, Mint, Ginger, Aniseed

Place in order of preference:
Orange, Apple, Cherry, Strawberry, Banana, Pineapple, Watermelon

If these are real fruits: cherry, watermelon, pineapple, banana, strawberry, apple, orange

If these are flavors, like of candy: cherry, apple, strawberry, watermelon, orange, pineapple, banana

There is a big difference, my friend.

Place in order of preference:
The internet, food, sex, music, sport

OHMYGOD I CANNOT DO THIS.

Bread and spread:
Fresh French bread, lightly toasted, with butter.

What's your fast food restaurant of choice, and what do you usually order?
We don't have them where I live now, but In N Out. I usually get a regular cheeseburger (if I'm really hungry, a Double-Double), with grilled onions. Then I go to McDonald's for fries, because In N Out fries aren't all that.

Pick a city. What are the three best dining experiences you've had in that city?
I've been all over the place so I could do this for just about anywhere, but I'm going to pick Washington, D.C., because there was some goooood eatin' to be had there.

1) This French restaurant in Georgetown I cannot for the life of me remember the name of: I get salmon wrapped in a layer of crisp-baked potato, covered with a grape sauce. So. fucking. good.
2) Capitol Grill: I get a starter of oysters, followed by steak and lobster. All so yummy.
3) Red, Hot, and Blue: Chain BBQ restaurant in D.C., in which I always order baby back pork ribs, and their potato salad, which is the best potato salad I've ever had anywhere. And all it is is red potatoes, chives, and dressing! I think the secret is celery salt...

I read to "How do you like your potatoes?" and then skimmed the rest pretty vaguely. Of course, my smutty little mind managed to pick out the sex in the "Place in order of preference: The internet, food, SEX, music, sport". How surprising :p
