Beauty boxes for March

This is the month where I got a couple of eye shadow palettes, which I actually liked because, while I don't normally wear eyeshadow, I've been experimenting with brown/purple, which Chae-kyung wears once in Goong and looked soooooo good. I bought a couple of shadows from Etude House, but the colors haven't been right and I haven't liked the way they apply.
Enter... Laura Mercier. I think I mentioned before that I was trying out some of their lip glosses, which I generally like. But one of the lip glosses came with a mini LM Caviar Stick, which doubles as a shadow and eyeliner. And guess what? I loved it! It's highly pigmented and glides on sooooo nicely. I ended up buying it in dark brown and purple, and it achieves the look I was going for, wheee! Only caveat is that with the Caviar Sticks you do need a blending brush.
Birchbox
- Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect
- COOLA Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer: I bought this a looooooong time ago after I got a facial, because they used it there and I loved it way it smelled. So it's kind of nice to get it as a sample.
- Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate
- Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Palette
- The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick in Saucy Marsala: I like the way this applies, and the color a lot more than I thought I would. I'm not generally crazy about the thick, crayon-like shape, but I have now also been introduced to its benefits; you can use the broad side to apply the color to most of your lip quickly and easily, and use the tip to touch up.
Ipsy
- Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer
- Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Mini
- tarte cosmetics tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in delish (a rose pink)
- Skone Cosmetics Luxe Pro Blending Brush: I have brushes coming out of my ears, and I specifically adjusted my preferences to remove brushes from things I'm interested in, so it's kind of annoying that this was included.
- mPrincess Pressed Eyeshadow in Chestnut
Sephora Play!
- Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast: At first I was afraid this was yet another dry shampoo, but it appears to just be a volumizer that you use on days when you don't blow dry.
- Chloe Fleur de Parfum
- Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer: I feel like I've gotten every type of Glamglow product there is by this point, lol.
- Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink: This is probably similar to the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick, but pink?! WTF. I don't know when/how I'd ever use this.
- Benefit Watt's Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter: A coworker of mine really likes this product, but I have zero idea how to use it. I should probably watch their video.
- Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm: Really glad to get a high-quality product like this!
Winner this month: Birchbox. This was actually a fairly decent month for all the beauty boxes, but I'm able to use (and enjoy) every single one of the Birchbox items.
