I was pretty surprised we won in a shootout against Big Ben too. I mean, I knew we had the talent and that it was theoretically possible. But a lot of things are theoretically possible with the talent level on this team and it hasn't turned anything tangible (except for tears and gnashing of teeth).

So yeah. It was lovely.

Also, I thought Deshawn Shead acquitted himself well. He had four defensed passes in the game. Cary Williams has four on the season. (And not to say Shead played a perfect game, but being around the guy to mess things up half the time, and tackling him right away when he does catch it is a big step up from where we've been.)

Overall, despite Big Ben's gaudy stats, I thought the defense played well -- they looked better, felt better. Things seemed to be clicking in a way the haven't been most the season. And considering this is one of the best QB's in the league and the best core of receivers in the league, they were always going to get their yards.

But yeah. It's such a bummer Jimmy's out for the season. :(

The positive thing is that he wasn't so integral to the offense that I just can't see them succeeding without him. But having him would have been nice, and would have made the stretch a lot easier. He was just starting to click too. *Le sigh*
