I haven't gotten my GIF assignment for the week, though I am looking much more forward to this one than I was the last one, but there were a few moments I wanted to GIF, for myself. I wanted to share them with y'all!

Kearse throws a 17-yard pass to Russell. I'm sure they intended this to be a touchdown play, but instead RW got hit pretty hard. Almost makes it not worth it, especially since they ended up only getting a field goal out of it. Still, as a fan, it was really fun to watch. I'm pretty impressed by that throw from Kearse! (Who, in case I haven't mentioned it a thousand times before, is really hot.)

Denver's first offensive play, a run by Montee Ball. Stripped by Earl Thomas. I like how Montee thinks he's going to juke past ET. Silly Montee.

I'm going to fangirl here a tad. Okay, more than a tad. ET is considered the best free safety in the NFL not just because he's a mother****ing ballhawk, but because of his incredible speed. This next gif is a slo-mo replay from the broadcast, pushed in on the action, and Earl is still a blur.

Here's an even closer look at it. Yep, they replayed this 3 times just so we could get a good view of what exactly happened. Earl strips, and Kam finishes the job.

Here's the adorable moment I mentioned in my other post, where Russell (who looks positively knackered) and Earl are holding hands at the end of the game. It's clearly a prayer circle of some kind; I wish we could have heard it! I had to cut him out, but the hand Russell is holding with his left hand is that of Jacob Tamme, who plays for the Broncos. Can I just give a big AWWWWWWWW to competitors being able to put shit aside even after such a huge, emotional game, and come together like this?

Also this, between Richard Sherman and Demaryius Thomas:

Last, but certainly not least, here's Steven Hauschka readying himself for a water slide. Or something. Maybe this workout routine helps calm his nerves before having to kick a potentially game-winning field goal? (Apparently it's called planking, "an isometric core strength exercise that involves maintaining a difficult position for extended periods of time." Naturally I would have no knowledge of this, as exercise is a foreign concept to me.)

And if you don't care about football, but like food, I have recent photos to share!

My mom and I went to The Walrus and the Carpenter, because I've had a gift card to use there for over a year. They specialize in oysters. That day they had 5 different types, and we got 2 of each for each of us (we went during their happy hour, in which oysters are half off). I can't remember what type of oyster this is, only that it was GINORMOUS. Look, it's practically the size of my hand! I actually had to bite into it 3 times in order to eat it. O.o

We also discovered a great Taiwanese place that's a cross between Facing East and Boiling Point, called Looking for Chai.

They have hot pots like Boiling Point, except the heat can be controlled, which is great. It's not quite as good as BP, but that might be because of how familiar I am with BP. This is the Taiwanese spicy hot pot, but to be honest it wasn't very spicy at all. Maybe 1 star at BP.

They're also a bubble tea bar. Not as good as Half & Half Express in SoCal, but I realllllllly enjoyed their passion fruit mango iced tea, which I didn't get a photo of. It was a little on the sweet side, but so flavorful. This is their most popular drink, the chocolate cookie milk tea (it's a cold drink and should have been served in a glass, imho), which I thought was only OK:

The following items are from Miyabi, a Japanese restaurant near [personal profile] adelagia's place.

Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver). I'd never heard of this before 2 weeks ago, when T. ordered it during our first visit. Now I wish I'd never heard of it at all, because it is delish, but is apparently a controversial delicacy due to monkfish possibly being overfished (and with its liver now being more prized than its meat). :(

Hamachi sashimi My absolute fave raw fish. And it is such a STEAL at this place! Really fresh, generous portions, 5 pieces for $8 (yes, I realize there's only 4 pieces pictured. I don't think it'll take much imagination to guess where the other one went already... ;) ). That is crazycakes inexpensive. The same thing goes for $17 at I Love Sushi (or 3 pieces for $10 at Rikki Rikki). I have to order it every single time I go there until they inevitably realize that they're charging too little.

Rib-eye skewer From their daily special menu. It was very good, but I would have liked it much more if it'd been more medium rare than medium well.
Ribeye skewers

Black cod kama They didn't have hamachi kama, which is actually what I wanted. This was only OK.

Assorted nigiri that B. and T. ordered. I think hamachi, squid, and mackerel.

And here are some locally inspired rolls that we got at one point or another:

Go Seahawks! roll Shrimp tempura roll with albacore, avocado, wasabi tobiko and sweet eel sauce.

Go Mariners! roll Calamari, cucumber, and avocado roll topped with spicy tuna, seaweed salad and wasabi tobiko.

Go Sounders! roll Shrimp tempura, spicy crab salad, wasabi tobiko, and mixed greens rolled with soy paper and sweet eel sauce.

The 3 of us are so loyal to our sports teams! ;) This is the cross we bear... We will eat sushi rolls in their name until they win the Super Bowl/World Series/MLS Cup, or until we perish!
