Rose Leslie (better known as Gwen, the housemaid who wants to be a secretary, in Downton Abbey) has been cast as Ygritte in S2 of Game of Thrones! I'm not gonna lie; I never really liked Ygritte much, but maybe this actress will make me change my mind.
I started Merlin S4. It "looks" way better than previous seasons did, much less campy. However, I find myself less interested in all the goings on and the characters.
Arthur's still the best one, but why is suddenly Gwaine the Fool of the knights?
Why is Santiago Cabrerra so hot? I really like his new, shorter haircut. It's very hard to keep up my A/G love when Lancelot is so smoking.
And I do still love A/G, but I fear it's gone the way of most couples on TV shows who have resolved sexual tension -- now it's boring. Part of the enjoyment of this couple was the illicit, our-love-can-never-be nature of it, while KNOWING Gwen eventually becomes Queen. Now it's like, a sure thing, no passion, etc.
Case in point: Arthur goes off to die, knowing/thinking he'll never return, and THAT'S his goodbye to Gwen?! It was like, "See ya" with a hug!! Boy does that not speak of true love to me.
Why the HELL did Gwen tell Arthur that Lancelot hadn't done what he did for Camelot, but because Gwen had asked him to keep Arthur safe at any cost (OK, *THAT* was good, to show us Gwen's feelings)??? First of all, that would make any reasonable guy kind of WTF. It's not something he needed to know -- it would only hurt him and doesn't change anything. Second of all, it also takes away from Lancelot's act! So let Arthur/others believe that he selflessly did it for Camelot, not because he wanted to get in your pants! Sheesh. Honestly, that was so stupid.
Morgana manages to look hot even when totally pale and deranged. But she really needs to get some other spells into her repertoire. I mean, even though throwing people back with one hand does the job, people just won't respect you unless you can show that you really have some depth and variety.
Is this really the end of Morgause/Emilia Fox? Sadness.
I KNEW the uncle guy had to be evil/in cahoots with Morgana. Know why? He was new. And had sideburns. You can't trust new people, especially new people with sideburns. That's good advice for life.
I've been rewatching Vampire Diaries S2 in preparation for S3.
jade_okelani is finally watching the show (she's almost midway through S2), so we're going to watch S3 together, which is why I'm not starting yet.
Right now I'm set to go to TEN Restaurant Week lunches/dinners. That makes me very excited and happy, which I need right about now.
I'm a little disappointed with Stephanie Izard's Girl in the Kitchen. It doesn't SAY that it has any recipes from Girl and the Goat, but that's what I was looking forward to. My bad for making that assumption, sigh. I mean, I wouldn't expect it to have recipes that wouldn't be friendly to home chef (like Pig Face), but I was realllly hoping for her recipe for sauteed green beans.
ropo says she probably wasn't allowed to share that one because it almost certainly has crack in it. LOL. Also, I went to her site after getting the book, and like, all the recipes were there! So I just paid to get them in book format, I guess.
I am going to revisit the Anne of Green Gables-athon that got shelved when all the craziness happened in the summer.
akscully, I think you should come.
