Okay. I love nature, except when it's insisting on coming into my house. There are definitely critters in the crawl space above my room/below the roof. I don't know if they're birds or squirrels (I'm not entertaining any other possibilities atm), but they make a lot of noise in the morning, scratching and running back and forth and what not (it wakes me up). Also it's creepy.

Then there's the damn woodpecker. In the past, I've heard it on the roof, this rapid tapping like someone's trying to drill into the house. Recently it's taken to sitting on the metal chimney stack (I think that's what it's called? No real idea) and drilling there. It echoes down the chimney really loudly and freaks Talis out. I have to go outside and scare it away by clapping my hands loudly or yelling. I'm not in my house all day though, so who knows when that woodpecker comes back and does it again? I don't want to have to pay for repairs to the damage it does!

Effing woodpecker, squirrels, and birds... GET OFF MY LAWN!

I've watched some more BSG... I think I am almost done with 8 episodes from S3 now.

- Okay good, Casey wasn't really Kara's kid and it WAS a Cylon ploy. Too bad it turned her into a raging bitch. (But seriously, can't she do simple math like the rest of us?) I mean, Kara's a bitch on the best of days, but she got so that I actively disliked her, which hasn't been the case before now. I mean, I was on Kat's side when she was arguing with her. Kat! I can't stand Kat! I'm glad Adama ripped Kara a new one, and she seems like she's snapped out of it for now. Personally I thought that she should never have been able to come back to the service as a Captain, anyway. If she left, she should have had to earn her rank again.

- Of all the new (and frankly, old) spouses, I like Anders the most. Actually the thing I like least about Anders is his relationship with Kara. I think he can do better.

- I hate Tigh. I've decided. I've always been on the fence about it, and have resisted hating him because it seems too obvious a thing to do, but I don't care anymore. I hate him, and don't think there's a single redeeming thing about him. At least he wasn't a hypocrite and he did kill Ellen for her transgressions/betrayal. Thank frack she's gone.

- The capsule that contained the disease that killed the Cylons? I'm not sure what to think of it. If it is from Earth, as 6 speculated, that's kind of cool ... but on the other hand, I almost want Earthlings to be totally ignorant of their past as the 13th colony, the existence of Cylons, etc. In other words, I think it would be really cool if the Earthlings they find are -- us. Not as technologically advanced, but also blissfully happy in our ignorance.

- Poor Athena (btw, she finally got her callsign), who might be infected w/ the disease. Oh no!

- At this point there has only been 7 Cylons introduced. The other 5 are apparently a secret that the others never speak about. That definitely piques my interest. I'm glad they addressed why we only ever saw the 7 we knew, at least. Thank you, Baltar, for finally asking that question.

- I wish I could get in shape as easily as Lee did. The fat just seemed to magically melt away!

My cousin is coming here at the end of March. He got an interview at UW for a PhD program, so they're flying him up here. First of all, I changed his diapers and fed him formula as a baby. HOW can he possibly be applying for PhD programs?! It's like, wut. Second of all, I'm excited because this will give me an excuse to go back to Senor Moose! "DoyoulikeMexicanfoodgreatIknowwherewecango!"

I'm on book 3 of the Twilight series. I HATE this series. It's so horribly written and stupid. I'm sorry to those of you who love it, but I just don't get it. I've read tons of fanfic that are written better. Why anyone would find this series compelling -- much less exceptional -- is seriously beyond me.

At first I started reading it because of all the controversy that book 4 generated when it came out. After the first two books, which were torturous to get through, I gave up. I'm starting again because Jade finished the series and actually found book 4 to be a guilty pleasure, and wants to talk about it with me. If I didn't love her so much I wouldn't be wasting my time. It makes my eyes bleed. I mean: "I was holding hands with the most perfect person in the world" -- if I read this in FANFIC I would stop in disgust, much less a published novel.

Then there's the wholly stupid contrivance of how Bella is totally willing to make an ETERNAL decision to become a vampire, die and become an unholy creature (though of course, in this series, that's not as much the case -- it's all sparkly skin and rainbows) and be with Edward 4ever and ever, but is freaked out by marriage. How totally inane and arbitrary is that!!!!!!! Not to mention, she's SO IMMATURE!! By her every word and deed, she shows that Edward is correct that she has no idea what she's giving up and isn't ready to make that kind of decision. We're supposed to believe that she is mature because Charlie can't cook and Renee is flighty, so Bella is the 'responsible' one. Um, those things don't make her mature. She may be mature in those ways, but in terms of emotional and intellectual maturity, she has EONS to go.

Plus, I'm sorry, but Bella has no personality. There are things she does (cooks), and things she prefers (driving slowly), but WHO she is, is a total mystery. She could be any teenage girl in love with a guy. She does nothing but love Edward and bite her lip over Jacob. Every guy who meets her falls in love with her. HELLO MARY SUE! A minor character from Harry Potter is better developed than she is.

Every single page is infused with stupidity, immaturity, and eyeroll-inducing sap. Their primary conflict is that they care about each other too much. Seriously, if I were Victoria, I'd want to kill Bella too. It'd be justifiable homicide.
