Because I love the music from Glee so much, I REALLY wanted to make a compilation of my favorite Glee tunes from the last two seasons. I also wanted to keep it to around ~80 minutes, so that this mix could actually be burned onto a single CD if necessary. I had to narrow down from over 250 songs to only 22, which was, as I'm sure any Gleek would understand, really frickin' hard. Especially once I got to about the last 30 songs or so, it was like Sophie's Choice... 8 times.
These selections encompass not only some of my very favorite numbers that they've done, but ones that I think also illustrate the range of the songs they perform and highlight the vocal strengths of various characters (if I could have also somehow conveyed visuals with music, I would have had Brittany and Mike dance to every one). I tried to be varied in my approach, but yes, some are missing. For example, there's Santana, who's one of my favorite characters, but who has yet to be given the chance to really shine. She's only had a couple of solos, and I wasn't into them enough to ensure that they got on this list (at least she gets a small spotlight in "Bad Romance"!) -- I just hope she gets more chances next season to show what she can do. Also, I should mention that I deliberately cut "Don't Stop Believin'." I know it's like, the Glee anthem... but for that very reason, I figured it could be easily obtained/listened to elsewhere.
This was totally a labor of love (yes, I even dorkily Photoshopped my own hand in to make the cover), and I had a ton of fun doing it. To reiterate, these songs just represent my personal favorites (and not even all of them). I'm sorry if I left out your favorite (I bet it was in my top 30), but I hope you enjoy this anyway!!
