Synchronicity, but not by The Police
Feb. 27th, 2009 10:26 amMy first issue of Gourmet arrived a week or so ago finally, though I didn't get a chance to thumb through it until last night. When I ordered it, it was simply to have a fun food magazine to read and get recipes from. At the time, I didn't know that: Ruth Reichl is the editor in chief (she took on the job after her stint at the NY Times), and Jane and Michael Stern write the "Roadfood" column for the magazine! Synchronicity at work. Though the world of food isn't that huge, I suppose.
I'm presenting the report I've been stressing over today. Hopefully it'll go well, and I can have a nice, relaxing weekend and possibly start the Korean HYD series thatmy crack pusher
akscully recommended.
OK, confession: I didn't realize that Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li was opening this weekend, but now that I know, I may have to go catch a matinee. I grew up playing Street Fighter, and have a soft spot for it. Plus, I love Kristin Kreuk! I know, it's like I'm a teenage boy. But I loved her on Smallville and I love seeing Asian actresses (particularly ones I also like) be successful, as there are so few of them in American cinema.
