everything under the sun
May. 15th, 2004 06:00 pmToday when I went to get a manicure (dusky rose this time), I saw an odd sight. A man came in to get a pedicure. I've never been more glad not to work in a nail salon when he took off his shoes. *shudder* Theoretically, I don't have a problem w/ men getting manicures/pedicures -- at least, not since I started enjoying fanon!Draco, who I think is fully capable of going through a beauty regime and yet retaining his masculinity -- but not this man.
Did some shopping at Old Navy today. Bought all summery items, even though it's cold and miserable and wet here. :-l They should hold their summer line until it's seasonally appropriate in each region, dammit. Usually when I go to Old Navy or the Gap or wherever, and they try and get me to sign up for a credit card so I can save 10 percent or whatever that day, I always refuse, because it's never worth the hassle. Well ... I bought many, many cute new tops today, plus a skirt and a pair of jeans (decidedly unnecessary), and new flip-flops, and ... I applied for a card this time. Let's just leave it at that.
My plan was to go see 'Troy' at some point, but with all the shopping and such, time slipped away. Plus, I feel a little funny about seeing this one by myself. I kind of feel like I'd be the female equivalent of a dirty old man who goes to see 'Bring It On' by himself or something.
I must dance in glee that Ginny's full name has finally been revealed, and it's not bloody Virginia. ( A small rant. )
In other name news ... If you haven't read
lissinthecity's ficlet Strawberry Malfoy yet, please do. It'll make you giggle. It's the perfect accompaniment to the news that Gwyneth Paltrow has named her newly born daughter 'Apple.' *cracks up all over again* Honestly.
( And here's a long, drawn-out zodiac thingy that's scarily accurate, and you'll have to click in to get the link to do your own. Bwahahaha )
Meanwhile, I filled up my tank at $2.29/gallon, which was painful to the extreme. Tell me if you're paying higher gas prices than that, so I can feel better. <g>
