Greetings, LJ chums! I have so much to do, re: work and moving and what not, so as is my typical response to pressure, I shall procrastinate. Wheeee!

In moving news...

Still have not packed a single, solitary item. I have had a few false starts, but usually after surveying everything I just give up, hopeless that the task can be accomplished. [livejournal.com profile] jade_okelani and [livejournal.com profile] ropo are arriving tonight, and before they do I still have to make up the beds and basically shove everything to one part of one room so that we can actually move around. And I have to do the dishes. And throw out the trash. And ... well, everything I should have done, like a week ago. *headdesk*

I'm going to do as [livejournal.com profile] gianfared suggested and ask for egg boxes from the grocery store(s). Also, [livejournal.com profile] corianderstem is kindly nicking boxes from her workplace for me, so hopefully I should be good there. I just can't wait till this is all over.

In D/G news...

I've started on my [livejournal.com profile] dgficexchange story, but I'm not even sure this is the plotline I actually want to use. I have three different stories I could write, and I'm just not sure which one to go with. :-S Also, I can't wait to be moved so that I don't have that distracting me while I'm trying to finish the story.

Also ... the D/G Classics polls are now up! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mynuet for putting the work into creating them. Everyone should go vote, because it's fun to fill out polls, and because the more votes, the more 'accurate' the sampling, I think. If this is the first time you've heard of this, there's some background here. (I kind of wasn't paying attention during the nom period, so thank you to everyone who nommed me -- or Jade!)

You do not have to vote for my stories. You should vote for the stories you think are best, period. No one will know who/what you voted for, because those results are hidden to everyone but the poller. Also, if you don't vote, you don't get to complain about the stories that make it to the final list. :-)

In WoW news...

Elisabeth is now lvl 49. I want to reach 50 and I don't. I like playing WSG too much in these lvls, so I may be one of those people who stay lvl 50 forever. I just wish more/better Alliance players would give us a challenge. Only 1 in 10 games is actually exciting in a "OMG we might actually lose" way (though we rarely actually do end up losing). I'm sure it must be disheartening for Alliance, too, and I feel kind of sorry for them. I mean, who wants to lose all the time? They don't get any honor, and they're giving their enemies a bunch of it. Maybe once the Ribbon of Sacrifice is implemented it'll encourage more of them to play.

Recently, there's been some WSG infighting among the Horde, but get this -- it's been about how quickly to win the game. Veterans don't want the game to end too quickly, so we've been going easy on Alliance, not going for their flag, letting them return our flag (yes!!), because we just want to play and PVP. And mostly, we want to boost their morale so that they'll come back. (Sometimes, you can be in the queue for HOURS because the Alliance side isn't filled.) But there are some players (newbies, mostly), who just want to win, and they don't care that it's not an even match up, etc. So then there's a lot of fighting about how quickly we should win. There's a team of us who adamantly oppose beating them in 10 min., and the other night I actually had to say, "I am NOT HEALING anyone who takes their flag, I'm telling you that right now." And Jade was like, "And I'm not giving backup assistance." And Taurhorde (who rocks, and is our unofficial 'leader' in WSG games) was like, "If you return their flag, you won't get any support from this team in the future. ANY." Basically, blackballing people who actually dared to complete the objective of the game. *sigh* I mean, sure, there's definitely things wrong with that, but I think our way is the lesser evil. It lets everyone play, even Alliance players, and makes it more fun for EVERYONE. Plus they at least get some honor if we let them return one of our flags.

There was the BEST GAME the other night, though. It lasted like, two hours. We were down somehow, 2-0. We were all sure we were going to lose. We had their flag, but they had ours, and it seemed inevitable. So we were like, well hell, let's just have fun with it, then, and kill as many people as we can before we lose. So we moved en force, the flag carrier included (a lvl 42 warrior who I had to heal repeatedly), and somehow, found the dude who was carrying our flag, and returned it. Then they grabbed it AGAIN, and it again seemed hopeless, and then we did it again. And actually scored! So then it was 2-1, and let me tell you, the game had already gone on for quite some time by then (see, even if we lose, it takes forever to beat us, not 10 min.), and we were ELATED to have scored. I mean, it had totally seemed an impossibility! Our flag carrier was out there in the open for God's sake.

After that, we scored again for a tie! It was unbelievable. At that point, there was no way we were going to lose. I mean, we had our groove back, and we weren't down by two. Our Hail Mary had totally paid off. And yes, we did win. It was seriously the most amazing experience. ALL games should be like that. I wish it had been recorded, so we could have watched it again; it was one of those games.

After all the WSG I've played this weekend, I think there's a chance I might actually make Sergeant during Tuesday's maintenance. That would ROCK.
