I woke up with a headache. That almost never happens, but when it does, it's such a terrible feeling. Because if that's how your day starts, why even bother getting up? It's now faded to a dull throb, but I know it's there. Waiting to hit me with full headachy force.

More on coffee: Went to Starbucks for a vanilla latte (whole milk, extra hot). You know, I want to support small businesses ... usually I get my coffee at this small espresso stand ... but I will never fully be Starbucks-less. You know why? It's not because their coffee is heads and shoulders above everyone else (though their vanilla latte is my favorite). In fact, the espresso stand I go to makes the best vanilla soy. And with Starbucks, you always have to deal with long lines and this sanitized corporate feel. (My Starbucks is 24/7 and has a drive-thru AND A TRAFFIC ATTENDANT in the mornings.) I could get away from that by going to a Starbucks 'spin off,' at the grocery store, say, but like I said, the coffee's not so superior I'd do that. The reason I can't get away from Starbucks retail is because it has one thing no one else has: butterhorns. Have you ever had one? It is ridiculously yummy. I mean, I like coffeehouse pastries in general, but butterhorns are a cut above. Starbucks finally started to realize it, too -- in the past, if I got there too late in the morning, they'd be sold out, and there was zero chance of getting them in the afternoon time. Now, they're never sold out in the morning, and I've even been able to get them (sometimes) in the afternoon. Also, they've started to sell my favorite brand of madeleine cookies -- they taste like poundcake -- and the only saving grace there is that they're a bit pricey so I can usually refrain.

Going to have brunch with Julie on Sunday. We're going to this restaurant that serves these delicious orange marmalade scones. And they're free! They come in a basket with your meal. Mmmm. They're the best American scones I've ever had (American scones and British scones are so dissimilar that they shouldn't even share the same name).

I have drawn a pig and have determined that yes, I am actually a traditional realist who's emotional, stubborn, and one to stick to my ideals. Draw your own pig, and link me so I can see your drawing. <g>

I am counting the minutes (45) until my massage appointment.

Oh yeah, and I finished my taxes. Cut it close this year. <g> My refund is less than half what it was in previous years. I wonder if I did something wrong. *wibble*
