Sharing!

Hee! Now that I've got all my components how I want them, I can make a bunch of themes to match. I <3 my Lana background, but I think she's too summery. My current theme is much more autumnish, I think. Check it out and see for yourself. Just try not to drool all over my layout, okay? HEEHEE. <333 (And just try and tell me the little comment separators aren't cute!!)

Link to this week's drabblage (I nearly forgot to do one): Cousin (Draco & Tonks, with D/G implied)

OMW, your little OTP comment separater are so freakin' adorable! I'm so jealous!

Coolness with the scrolling song.

You realize I'll probably be playing with my journal again all weekend now to come up with something even cooler than what I already have. It's addictive.

Heehee! It's totally like crack. Every new thing I see, I'm like, I waaaaantsss ittttt. :))

Waaaaaaaay better than anything I could do. Loves it, yes *nods head* :)

Cute icon, too!

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all true. I'm sure if you gave it a go it'd be fabulous. Thanks for the compliment!

[identity profile] connaka.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oooooooooh! That's really neat! I'm loffing the new layout very much! :))

*drools on layout*

Oops. HEEHEE. My bad! :p

*wipes drool away*

Um, just one thing though. Why do you call it a "Lana background?"

[identity profile] connaka.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
GASP!

Ohmygod that I just noticed that you have the cute little Draco/Ginny iconage thingy by your 'comments' links! Soooo cute!

Oh and, I also forgot to say that I really DO like the post separators!

*beams approvingly at the look of the entire layout*

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I <3 the D/G comment separator.

Oh, I wasn't calling this theme the Lana background -- but was originally using my Lana theme for my new journal look (if you didn't see it earlier, that's probably why it didn't make sense to you). I was saying that the Lana theme was too summery, so now I've switched to a more autumn-appropriate theme with Draco. : )

[identity profile] gianfared.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Bravo! *claps* I'm sooooo impressed. How long did this take you? I ♥ the background. *dreamy sigh*

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
All in all, about two days. First I had to figure out all the coding, which took up most of the time, and then I had to Photoshop the pic of Draco to get it to look how I wanted, which took a couple of hours. :p But once I started, I could not stop. It's like crack.

But now I can just sit here and stare at my journal all day. *sighs with you*

*dies, goes to bad place*

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking about you when I warned about the drooling, you bad girl!! HEE! He's so pretty.

[identity profile] rainpuddle13.livejournal.com 2004-10-02 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
*covets*

I would I knew how to do something like this :P

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, you totally can. I really only know HTML so it was a bit daunting at first, because the S2 layers and themes are kind of confusing (and damn complicated -- the people who program this place and any other are just amazing geniuses). However, they have some good tutorials at [livejournal.com profile] component_help that make it slightly more understandable. <g> (Or if you're using a different layout than Component, I think there are equivalent help communities for each layout.)

But it's totally time consuming, so that alone might make someone go, Eh forget it. <g> Good luck if you decide to try it! I don't know a lot but I'd be there if you need advice or anything (and I know Annibug could do the same). >:D

*stares in admiration* *drools at background*

I need to know how to work html codes. I need to know how to do all of this. I love your comment seperators. And the scrolling song. Hell, I love everything about your layout, right now.

*shakes head*

Why must I be so bloody useless at that kind of thing?

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!! I'm sure you could do it if you gave it a go. I was just telling Pud that I really only know HTML so this whole revamping thing was a bit daunting at first. The S2 layers and themes are kind of confusing and complicated.

BUT -- good tutorials can be found at [livejournal.com profile] component_help, and they can help shed some light and what's what (or if you're not using Component, I'm pretty sure there are equivalent help communities for the other layouts).

I'm no expert, but I'm here if you need advice or something! :D

[identity profile] madannekidd.livejournal.com 2004-10-05 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
*grin*

Thank you. And I'll try it when I'm not too busy being daunted by it all.

[identity profile] hannah-kim.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs 'till it hurts at your icon*
BTW, there was more jaw-droppping when I realised that your quotes now have links. And of course when I saw the comment D/G.

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just going to use this to respond to both of your comments. :D

1) Thank you for all the nice compliments!! I'm soooo glad you like it. And yes, you're right, I am pretty happy! (Though now the danger is that I will simply sit at my computer and stare at the screen and never move again.)

2) CURRY. Dude, I have always said that the only downside to living in England was the food (heehee), EXCEPT for the Indian food (and maybe the pastries). Because I had the absolute BEST curry I've ever had in my life when I was living in Stratford. I still remember it to this day, and have never been able to find anything like it here. *weepz* But yes, it is only one of the many reasons I would like to return to London one day...

3) I <333 the comment separators. And I'm thrilled to be able to link to stories on my sidebar now, so people can find them (and without having to ask me <g>).

4) As for the writing ... I know I said this awhile ago, but sometime in the next few days I *am* going to be sending you parts 1 & 2 of one of the stories I was talking about, so you can do your Brit beta mojo on them. Even though it's not fully complete, it's nearly there, and I've decided to start posting it. :D If you don't have time, no worries, just let me know. >:D

[identity profile] hannah-kim.livejournal.com 2004-10-03 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
1) I nearly fell into the sit-and-stare-at-pc-screen trap myself. I had this picture of Pete & Carl from The Libertines as my desktop background and ended up just sitting there, staring for a long while. True story.

2) And of course, now I'm really hungry for a curry...

4)Dude, even if I didn't have time, for your fic, I would make time. Wow, Brit Beta Mojo. Its like my superpower or something. *g*
