Song Meme

Comment and I'll tell you a song that reminds me of you/makes me think of you.

And if you absolutely hate a particular artist or something, tell me and I'll try to avoid choosing something by them. <g>

Edit: I'm linking to lyrics, but really it would be best to actually listen to the song if you can. :D

ok, I'll bite.

What song reminds you of me? *g* And, for god's sake, why?

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Lady Is a Vamp (http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Backstage/1687/Lady_Is_A_Vamp.html), Spice Girls.

'Cause that's how I see ya. ;)

Wow :D I'm interested to see how this turns out. You have the funnest memes :D Do you make them up? I'd be downright afraid to offer this to most people on my flist...

As for people I hate...well, I'd rather have an honest answer :D

*hugs*

P.S. For reciprocity's sake, although this has only been true since yest, I think that the song "Playing With the Boys" reminds me of you and our shared appreciation for the majest of Top Gun.

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG I love "Playing with the Boys"!!!

As much as I would like to take credit for a bunch of memes, I'm afraid this one is the only one attributable solely to me. (A loooong time ago, Jade and I did a "space" meme, though.)

Your song is, of course, Material Girl (http://www.cs.rpi.edu/~kennyz/madonna_lyrics/like_a_virgin.html#materialgirl), Madonna. Only one of the bestest songs evar.

[identity profile] kirixchi.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! I love it!
That's too funny.

Do me! Do me!

You know I can't resist your "comment and I'll tell you something" memes.

Don't Know Why (http://www.loglar.com/song.php?id=14621), Norah Jones. I love the feel of this piece. Feels so you ... or how I think of you, anyway. ;)

[identity profile] akscully.livejournal.com 2004-09-23 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Do I even want to know?

A Cheap and Evil Girl (http://www.breesharp.com/lyrics/cheapevil.asp), Bree Sharp

Hmmm, too obvious? Then I say:

Like a Friend (http://www.pulppeople.plus.com/Lyrics/likealyrics.htm), Pulp

I'm commenting. Get to work, woman.

No Man's Woman (http://letrasdecanciones.tomamusica.com/s/Sinead-OConnor/NoMansWoman_34269.htm), Sinead O'Connor

This song rocks -- I kinda like to think that this would be fitting for me, too. But definitely for you. <3

[identity profile] mynuet.livejournal.com 2004-09-27 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent song. :D I'd told my friend [livejournal.com profile] lilituc it reminded me of her when she did the opposite meme, but I like to think it would fit me, too.

This is a cool one. :) *comments*

Walking on the Sun (http://www2.uol.com.br/cante/lyrics/Smash_Mouth_-_Walking_on_the_sun.htm), Smash Mouth.

At this point, I'm not even questioning myself. I'm just going with gut reaction. *sings along*

Landslide (http://home.midsouth.rr.com/wildheart/LandslideLyrics.htm), Stevie Nicks.

Hahahahaha, that'll teach you not to put any caveats!

Okay, for real, basically anything by Lenny makes me think of you. But I'd have to say that Fly Away (http://natali.mine.nu/lyrics/lennykravitz/flyaway.html) also seems most fitting, lyrics wise.

Hee! At that lyrics site I found a page for cheating The Sims: http://natali.mine.nu/cheats/thesims.html

Enjoy!

Ooooo! *raises hand and bounces in seat* Me! Me!

Ooh Child (http://www.sugarbase.co.uk/alt/beth/lyrics/child.html), Beth Orton

There have been a number of covers of this song, but it's this one in particular that, for some reason, I think is fitting. :D

[identity profile] jade-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-23 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's like re-watching S3 of Alias -- I know it's a bad idea, but I juuuuust can't help myself.

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, many Sarah songs might do it ("Fallen" comes to mind, due to those many aborted attempts to download it one evening), but I'm going to go with Fear (http://www.aquezada.com/sarah/lyrics/fte.html#fear). It harkens back to the days of Roswell, which was a show you introduced me to, the first time you ever visited. :D And until you mentioned it, I never realized "Fear" was the first song they ever played on that show, and we ended up making it the first track of our dorky Roswell soundtrack. <3 The song has history, man.

I'm game.

Missing (http://www.ablyrics.com/lyrics/36165/Evanescence/Missing.html), Evanescence

<3

[identity profile] lissannej.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
*grins* My favourite song of theirs, hands down. Good choice!

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
But ... that one's on Origin. So have you already heard most of the songs on that album? (BTW, I'm mailing it out tomorrow! :D)

[identity profile] lissannej.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, I haven't heard any of them bar "Missing" and "Farther Away"! Thank you so much, can't wait to get it >:D< Missing and Farther Away were on the B side of the Bring Me To Life single out here. Actually, I have got another two that might be on Origin, as my copy of Fallen is a demo, but I can't remember what they are...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_lore/ 2004-09-24 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Me!! Meeeee!

love, lore

I don't know why, exactly, but... Fix Me Now (http://www.firelyrics.com/song/92509/), Garbage.

Yellow (http://www.alwaysontherun.net/coldplay.htm#5), Coldplay

:-*

[identity profile] seldon.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Me, me, me! ^_^

Yours is easy, by the way. Meat Loaf's "Good girls go to heaven (Bad girls go everywhere)". Though sometimes you remind me of Napoleon XIV's "They're coming to take me away (ha ha)" :p

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Every single time I hear Seven Years (http://www.alwaysontherun.net/nat.htm#11) now, I think of you. : )

But, since that's way too obvious, I'm going with Morning After (http://www.lyricsbase.com/h/howieday/morning-after.html), Howie Day.

I once had the pleasure of seeing him in concert (he opened for the Goo Goo Dolls), and he was great. I love his music, and this is one of my favorite songs by him.

And haha, I adore the songs you chose for me. :D

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee, George was my mom's favorite Beatle.

Anyway, the song that reminds me of you is, of course, The Rock Show (http://www.geocities.com/aorlyrics/Blink_182/007.html), blink-182. Not only do we share the same t00by love of this band, but we also agree that Mark's the best one, and that he looks sooooooo dreamy w/ his glasses in this video!!! <3

[identity profile] hannah-kim.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, yay!

I was trying to think of one for you, and I mean this is in the most loving way possible - and plus its a great song, Basket Case by Green Day!

[identity profile] sarea-okelani.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
First the used tissue, now this?!

J/K -- it's perfect. I adore "Basket Case."

What gross present should I get you for Chrsitmas now...

[identity profile] hannah-kim.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
After the pains I went through to get that tissue from Christian Bale's dressing room dustbin, this is the thanks I get.

Glad you liked the song :D
