oh, my misspent youth
Took the day off today. Slept and got a manicure. Did some writing. Watched Spellbound and No Good Deed. It was a good day.
Life is so not how I imagined it would be when I was 11. My mother used to make home-cooked meals all the time, and it was a treat to get to eat TV dinners. At that time, I couldn't wait to grow up so I could eat as many TV dinners as I wanted. Stouffer's macaroni & cheese and their meat lasagne are both still the best m&c and meat lasagne I've ever had. And even though I'm now living that life, it's not quite as glamorous as I had thought it would be. I'd take one of my mom's home-cooked meals any day. What conclusion is there but Kids are stupid?
Another example is Jem. I watched the first two episodes today, and it was just painful. I rmember it being incredibly fun and exciting, and even though I didn't expect it to maintain the sophistication that I saw in it then, I still thought I'd be able to enjoy it. I could not have been more wrong. It's all so painfully cheesy now! I've been forced to sell it on eBay, because I cannot abide the idea of watching any more episodes. Jem should have stayed in my childhood, where it belonged.
This was fun to play: The Crimson Room. Has nothing to do w/ Jem. I'm on a whole new topic now. <g> It took me far longer than it should have to solve, but I finally got out of the damn room (which I had thought for a time was an impossibility).
Thanks to
gianfared for the icon. The whole cute picture can be found here.

Oh - google says this one is similar as well. Perhaps we should just re-name this the Time-Suck Thread.
