The book community, and other things.

Okay, the "book community" has been set up! I finally decided on a name, and I've created a skeleton LJ along with some rules/guidelines at [livejournal.com profile] literocracy. Any suggestions are welcome. For now, I've decided that a closed community is best, so if you're interested in joining, please let me know and I can get you added. It's more to keep totally random people out than an elitist thing. Though ... that's probably contradictory. Well, you know what I mean, right? It's a new community, and fragile. For now, I'd rather not deal with external headaches. Anyway, once we're about filled up, I'll ask for book selections, and we'll kick off! Wheeee!

I think Liss has set up a skeleton for her community as well, and we'll be linking to one another, since our efforts are happily complementary. Not sure if she's ready for that to be revealed yet, though, so I'll wait to provide that link.

The mystery of the note and the rings has been cleared up. Plus an interesting discussion about Draco's role in the books. There is a discrepancy between the level of "screen time" he gets in the books vs. the movies -- is that a creative choice because the films are supposed to appeal to a younger audience, or is there significance for Draco's character, considering Steve Kloves works closely w/ JKR to determine which details are important and which are not? I've long thought that the movies could be used as a roadmap to what the future of the HPverse has in store.

[livejournal.com profile] significantowl, I got the Coupling tapes today! Thank you! I am such a slacker. I'm done with all the AtS tapes (there are 7), but I haven't yet sent a couple of them to Jade, as I was missing some episodes. Will do that on Monday, and then you'll get them hopefully not too much longer after that.

Everyone was making an icon with the hands, so I had to, too.

Will you please put me in the reading group?
Love the icon!

Done, and thanks! LOL @ yours. The love of Lucius's accessories knows no bounds.

That's some speedy service!
Cane and PinkUmbrella are meant to be. They are the /real/ Romeo and Juliet parallel in HPdom!

Are you online? You should AIM-me sometime (MuggleWench).

Your Math-like-object Icon scares me....pi, pi! Run away....(*comforts self with notion that maybe they are just meant to be group letters...like a bunch of sorority laundry got all mixed together).

Hahahahahaha! *shatters your fragile perception of Sarea*

Oh it's meant to be math, for she is Asian Math Girl, and if you ask her, she'll tell you that her favorite kind of math (yes, you read that right) is algebra.

I know. It's a lot to adjust to. Just take deep breaths and the burning will fade.
