Oooh... I haven't read the Anita Blake Vampire books... but they do indeed sound interesting! Right now I'm in the process of reading the teen vampire series Cirque Du Freak, which is rather good if I don't say so myself. :-)
Anyway, thank you thank you for sharing that lovely info concerning Blaise Zabini! I always knew that he had to be a boy... it just seemed weird to me to make him a girl! Not sure why... just a gut thing. As a result, I always wrote him as a boy and had difficulties reading stories where he was a girl (unless the story totally rocked... and believe you me there definitely are some of those). However, I must say that I'm terribly glad to finally have actual confirmation though... always listen to the gut! LOL! :-)
