My failing health.

So my blood tests from the doctor's office came back today, and everything looks okay except ... I apparently have high cholesterol. Dun dun DUUUUUNNN! It's at 144 (below 130 is supposed to be ideal), and they want to put me on some kind of medication to lower it. I'm like, um, can't I just try and lower it naturally first? I'm not really a medication-type person. I will take Aleve during that time of the month, but that's about it.

OMG I found the best thing at the used book store today. There is a "follow up" to The Notebook!! It's like FANFIC, only written by the original author. Bwahahahaha.

It's called "The Wedding."

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks comes the long-awaited follow-up to his classic tale of enduring love, The Notebook. After 30 years, Wilson Lewis, son-in-law to Noah and Allie (of The Notebook fame), is forced to admit that the romance has gone out of his marriage. Despite the shining example of his in-laws' 50-year love affair, Wilson himself is a man unable to express how he truly feels. With the distractions of his daughter's upcoming wedding he is forced to realize how close he is to losing his own wife Jane. But if Wilson is sure of anything, it's this: His love for his wife has only intensified over the years, and he wants nothing more than to make their marriage work. Now, with the memories of his in-laws' inspiring life together as his guide, Wilson pledges to find a way to make his wife fall in love with him...again.

I have also re-collected all of the books in the Flowers in the Attic series, which I haven't read since junior high. Jade and Amelia have never read them, and I'm going to expose them to the horror. Mwahahahaha.

I have now heard both the Chad Kroeger and Alex Band versions of "Why Don't You and I" and I have to say that I much prefer Alex's. I have no problem w/ Nickelback, but Chad's version just sounds totally wrong, not like a fun, peppy little love song but all dark and angsty. Which do you like?

PLEASE DON'T DIE, SAREA.

Also, totally agree about Chad's version. His voice is too rough and gravelly for that type of song.

Worst. Fanfic. Ever. Wilson and Jane? Bitch, please.

I must agree that the book description sounds very fanfic-ish. You would have fooled me if you had told me that you downloaded it from ff.net :P

I've read two books by Mr. Sparks: A Walk to Remember, which I liked very, very much, so much that I read another one of his works, A Bend in the Road, which sucked so, so hard that I've never given him another chance. I think I'll wait until the movie to see if "The Notebook" is worth reading...

My failing health.

Drama girl.

Oh, but if you do die, I'm so killing you. (Oh it'll work; don't look at me that way.)

How sad that I, who eat nothing but cholesterol-inducing foods, have perfectly normal cholesterol and blood pressure, and you, who actually like everything and so could eat healthy and not even notice it 'cause you'd still be HAPPY, somehow have even remotely high cholesterol. I do believe that at only 144, yes, diet should totally do it rather than las drogas. And I *like* las drogas.

I'm shocked and stunned that Jade hasn't read these! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!! They're so....so....

OMG. Just read them already!

Do you mean your "bad" cholesterol is at 144? Because cholesterol is considered high when your total reaches 200 and above. For example, I have high cholesterol, my total's up to 250. EEP! And I'm 23, so every doctor I've asked, including my father, has told me I'm too young to take any cholesterol-lowering drugs. I gave up my Starbucks white chocolate mochas for this!! Grr.

Flowers in the Attic ~ My first love in literature.*sigh* Will have to recapture that feeling as well. My daughter is 13 and will probably be getting to those soon.
I too must agree with you that Nickelback's version is dark and angsty, much like just about everything they do. BUT I like their version. Sometimes I need angst, and they fit the bill.

Hm.

First off, sorry about all the 'anonymous' comments I occasionally do. I don't have an LJ, so I guess I'm stuck with this for a while.

I have to side with the people who like the Chad version better. I love Alex's voice in his other songs, but it sorta sounds weird to me in this one. Am I the only one who doesn't think Chad sounds dark and angsty in the song? *lol*
