The thing is, if I had mailed it, I would be less concerned about whether or not the IRS actually received it. It was because I'd filed online that I wasn't sure, since it was the first time and all. However, I did get an acknowledgement email, along with a DC number, which I think is sort of like a receipt/file number, so I think I'll be okay.

And I am expecting $$ back, not to pay, so I'm hoping the penalty thing won't be an issue regardless.
