Orphan Black S1 finale + S2 E1

I'm about to start S2 so better get my S1 finale thoughts down before all my theories and what not are blown to smithereens, lol.

- Well, okay, then. I guess I wasn't paying attention because I thought Helena's DNA was identical to the other girls' (isn't that what the police found??), but that can't be. Right? But then, whose clones are the others, Sarah's or Helena's? I guess I'm going by "real" science, which says that genetically identical twins do NOT have the same DNA. But apparently, in this universe, they... do? Maybe because whatever they implanted in the birth mother was a clone? Or... I don't. At this point my knowledge of science fails me, and I kind of feel like the show is doing its own thing, too. Because from what I know, identical twins are NOT genetically identical, so if in fact Helena has the same DNA as the others, we don't know if she's a twin or a clone...

- I was feeling sorry for Helena until she killed Amelia. Then it's like, bitch, you too crazy.

- But I doubt Helena's really dead. I didn't even see an actual wound on her.

- And my love for Alison has now tapered a lot, all due to the events of the last episode. Like, dude, Ainsley was so obviously not her monitor. But even failing to recognize that, she didn't have to let her die in that totally horrible way. Like, how awful do you have to be to let that happen, especially since she was already leaving??? And you'd already slept with her husband??? And you were probably going to sign those papers?!

- They fooled me with the husband. I was buying that it couldn't be him because of how long she'd known him, but apparently they bought him off at some point. (I seriously doubt he was in on it since he was 15. He doesn't seem like that great a spy.)

- Oh my lord I really need Paul and his terrible acting to go away.

- I wish Vic wasn't so annoying and pathetic, because Michael Mando is okay.

- Delphine/Cosima continue to frustrate and bore me.

- Well I was sort of right about Mrs. S? In my first post I said: "...she's the kind of character that's going to need to turn out to be evil, or be killed off." I'm revising that now that more stuff has been revealed. Either she's actually evil, because now she's seemingly run off with Kira after Amelia revealed that she was one of the scientists who Amelia worked for (though how does that work? Amelia recognized her right away but kept her cool til later?).

However, since it seems they want us to think the worst of her, I now have to consider that it's possible she started out bad, but over the years actually grew to care for Sarah and Kira. I mean, she had Kira in her care. If she only cared about Kira as a scientific experiment, she could have run off with her long ago and Sarah, as a messed-up low life, couldn't have done jack shit about it. She also wouldn't have to slowly let Sarah back into Kira's life, but she seemed to genuinely want the best for them both. Also, no one knew about Sarah -- not Leekie, not anyone. That would imply that Mrs. S has been out of the game for awhile (or, potentially, is working for a much darker, more down-low organization than has been revealed thus far).

Also, if she only cared about the experiment, she wouldn't have needed to take in another foster child in Felix. Unless he's also part of some experiment that we have yet to find out about. Are there multiple Felixes running around?! One can only hope.

So, despite appearances, Mrs. S retains my "cautiously optimistic" vote still.

- I was frustrated that Sarah was interrupted before she could spill everything to Art. I still think that partnership is the one I care most about, and the one that's actually going to help her. I'd forgotten about that phone call she made... I hope it goes a long way in getting Art to trust her.

- At first I thought the "proclone" Rachel might be the original, but apparently it's too soon for that sort of reveal.

- Also my idea that Sarah might be the original also seems to have taken a beating. If she were, then Helena, as her twin, should also be "special" -- and she is, just not in the way I mean. ;)

- I really have to give the "patent" thing the side eye. That can't possibly be enforceable in a court of law. I mean, they are human beings. If it came out that they were clones, I can't see any court being like, welp, you're the property of such-and-such then, sorry!

Okay, now seen S2 E1 so might as well just add to this post.

- LOL, okay, well I guess they didn't intend for us to think the worst of Mrs. S. I don't get it... isn't the woman in the picture her??? Meaning she was one of the scientists? Isn't that what Amelia was trying to tell Sarah? Does Sarah not get the message or does she trust Mrs. S so much that she doesn't care at this point? I mean, she didn't even tell anyone about Amelia's last warnings to her!

- I'm back to loving Alison though I am still bummed about what happened with Ainsley. That scene with her fighting the two guys with pepper spray and her rape whistle was just hilarious.

- I don't get what Paul OR Delphine's game is, and it's annoying me. Whose side are they really on?! Okay, with Paul, I suspect he's actually on Sarah's side, and it's stupid and boring. I want him to GO AWAY.

- At least I got my wish about Michael Mando's character. I'm realllllllllly hoping they see how fucking lame and useless Paul is as a character. I mean, he's their ineffective lackey, but also in love with her? He's under both their thumbs? GROW A FUCKING PAIR, PAUL.

- Rachel seems to know more than Dr. Leekie... I don't get that hierarchy either. Is she his boss or just a higher-ranked colleague? Who does she actually work for? This whole part of the mythology is a total mystery to me.

- KNEW IT re Helena... not that that was such a long limb to go out on. Though apparently she IS special like Kira (and probably Sarah). She has Wolverine healing factor too!

- Also, what's with the clones and their illness? Why are they all dying of consumption? Is that their one weakness, that they are too good for the modern era and must die of Victorian-era disease?
