Danke! Sadly, my laundry room is also my entertainment room, so I fear locking him up in there, as he might then tear apart all my precious books/DVDs. I have considered doing what other people do -- crate their dogs at night. Seems to soothe them (because they have their own 'space' and are the masters of their domain), and is more restful for the parents. But I don't know, the poor thing is left by himself already so much of the time that to do it for eight more hours seems unnecessarily mean. :(
